I am interested in developing new synthesis methods of inorganic luminescent nanocrystals to control their size and morphology. My goal is to control and optimize the optical efficiency of these nanocrystals by mastering their morphology, crystal quality, size and size distribution. These nanocrystals are developed for LED-based white lighting (nanophosphors) and for biomedical applications (bio-imaging and nanothermometry).

My research work is based on the synthesis of inorganic luminescent nanocrystals and on the characterization of their optical properties (luminescence [1], Second-Harmonic Generation [2,3]). The targeted applications for these nanocrystals spread out between white LED-based lighting, biophotonic applications [4] and fundamental studies in nano-optics [5]. I am currently developing new synthesis routes based on solvothermal methods associated with high pressure or microwave heating. I am keen on working in a collaborative environment, through national and international partnerships, in particular with the SYMME Laboratory (Annecy, France), with UC Santa Barbara (US) and with INRS Montréal (Canada).
