Titre : Tensor network approaches for simulating fractional Chern insulators

LPMMC, Salle G421

Résumé : Tensor networks provide powerful variational wavefunctions for capturing strongly-correlated ground states of one- and two-dimensional quantum lattice systems. They do so by capturing the correct entanglement structure of ground state wavefunctions. Due to the chiral structure of the entanglement spectrum inherent in states that exhibit chiral topological order, the application of tensor networks to these chiral systems is much less straightforward. In this talk, I will explain these conceptual difficulties in representing chiral states with tensor networks, and how these can be overcome in practical numerical simulations.
