Titre : Explore novel quantum and strongly correlated materials from the viewpoint of high-pressure science
Institut Néel, Salle E424 (Salle Louis Weil)
Résumé : High-pressure synthesis is a technique that mimics the formation of minerals in the Earth’s interior. This lecturer has used this method to explore new transition metal compounds and has discovered new physical phenomena. In this lecture, he will introduce his recent research topics: colossal negative thermal expansion in perovskite-type vanadium oxides, cation dimerization in ilmenite-type vanadium oxides, quantum spin properties in natural minerals, and thermally induced magnetization reversal in manganese oxides.
