Résumé : Recent progresses in nanofabrication and material engineering methods have facilitated the emergence of single-electron sources for use in quantum electronics. However, due to standard electronics reaching its physical limitations, a shift in technological paradigm is necessary in order to study quantum phenomena on extremely short time scales.
The aim of my PhD work was to develop an experimental setup to generate picosecond voltage pulses in a cryogenic environment for flying qubit applications.
In the first part of my presentation, I will discuss how we successfully generated such picosecond short voltage pulse using the fast recombination time of Low Temperature grown GaAs (LT-GaAs). The discussion will follow on the co-integration of this opto-electronic material along side a quantum circuit formed on a high mobility two-Dimensional Electron Gas (2DEG), and the optimisation of the THz coplanar waveguide circuit.
The second part of the talk will be dedicated to the measurements performed on this integrated material, as well as the future prospects on the next generation of devices.
This work will pave the way for on-chip integration of picosecond voltage pulses into quantum nanoelectronics devices and dynamic ultrafast control of electronic flying qubits.
