Titre : Nickelate superconductors: an ongoing dialog between theory and experiments

Résumé :

The recent discovery of unconventional superconductivity in nickelates, previously speculated from theoretical considerations, has sparked a renewed interest in these systems [1,2]. The electronic properties of these nickelates display interesting analogies with the high-Tc cuprates and, at the same time, intriguing differences that deserve close attention. In this seminar I will provide an overview of the state-of-the-art in the field and present some recent results obtained at NEEL. The latter include the ab inito description of correlations [3], distinct interfacial effects [4], and prospective materials [5].
