The Mayor of Tsukuba in Néel

After a courtesy visit to the President of Grenoble Alpes University (Yassine Lakhnech), and in the context of the strategic partnership with the University of Tsukuba (Japan), the Mayor of Tsukuba (Dr. Igarashi) visited the Institut Néel on 10 November 2023.

Tsukuba, a city twinned with Grenoble, also known as Tsukuba Science City, is similar to Grenoble in that it is home to a world-class university and a large number of national and international research organisations.

At the Institut Néel, the Mayor was able to appreciate the fundamental research, the special collaboration with Tsukuba through the international J-FAST laboratory, and the impact on society through the creation of start-ups.

He was able to meet the French and Japanese students and researchers involved in the collaboration.
