He teaches semiconductor physics and analogue electronics. He conducts experimental research at the Institut NEEL/CNRS (France) on wide bandgap (SiC, GaN and ZnO) and ultra-wide bandgap (diamond, AlN and Ga2O3) semiconductors.
His research focuses on the development of advanced electrical characterisation and microscopy methods for the study of bulk materials, thin films, micro- and nanowires in order to propose innovative devices in the field of power electronics, light-emitting diodes and detectors.
Julien was made a junior member of the Institut Universitaire de France in 2012 and a senior member in 2024. He was awarded the André Blondel medal in 2019.
He is involved in the organisation of several international conferences and is also co-founder of a start-up (DIAMFAB, 2019) that exploits some of the patents he has filed.
This interim period, which will end on September 1st, 2024, will allow him to complete his teaching and some of his commitments at UGA.
Upon review by the relevant bodies, he will then be appointed until the end of the mandate.
Thank you, Julien, for your commitment to the collective!
