Congratulations to Christopher Bäuerle!

Christopher Bäuerle, ERC Advanced Grant 2024

The PEPR Quantum program congratulates its members who were honored in June 2025!

Christopher Bäuerle is the coordinator of the PEPR Quantum project  eQubitFly, which aims to develop a new quantum architecture by leveraging flying electronic qubits. He was awarded the 2024 ERC Advanced Grant for his project ULTRAWAVE, which seeks to generate ultrafast electrical pulses using advanced terahertz technologies. The goal? To pave the way for novel quantum manipulations..

About the eQubitFly Project

“In the eQubitFly project, we are developing the first quantum nanoelectronics platform dedicated to the creation, manipulation, and detection of propagating electronic excitations on timescales down to the picosecond. Through pioneering research on the generation and control of ultrashort electronic wave packets, the project aims to achieve the ambitious goal of realizing high-fidelity flying charge qubits and demonstrating their entanglement. Our work highlights the potential of quantum nanoelectronics not only for technological applications, but also as a powerful tool to probe the very foundations of quantum physics.”
