A new means of transporting platinum in the earth’s crust has been discovered

Platinum group elements (PGE) are among the most popular metals for new technologies, but they are as rare as gold.

They are considered to be very poorly soluble in aqueous fluids in most natural hydrothermal–magmatic contexts and industrial processes.
