Optical Study of superconductors using THz/ Infrared Synchrotron Radiation

Abstract: By exploiting the high brilliance and the stability of the synchrotron radiation in a wide spectral range available at the AILES beamline of SOLEIL, we were able to perform infrared and Terahertz spectroscopic measurements on several challenging superconductors. These measurements aim at probing the signature of transitions even for materials at reduced scale. 

After describing the main characteristics of the beamline, we will present three optical studies on superconducting systems: Niobium films studied in the subkelvin temperature range, the H3S  at high pressure and a thin film of Nd0.8Sr0.2NiO2 belonging to the recently discovered superconducting nickelate family.
