Title: Development of silicate and aluminate based functional materials

Institut Néel, Room E424 (Salle Louis Weil)

Abstract: Our group focuses on oxide materials primarily composed of abundant elements such as silicon and aluminum, aiming to develop innovative ferroelectric, antiferroelectric, and high-permittivity dielectric materials. In this seminar, I will highlight our recent discoveries with several key materials: ferroelectric Bi2SiO5-type oxides with 1-dimensional SiO4 chains [1–3], improper ferroelectric aluminate-sodalite-type oxides with a zeolitic [AlO2]12 cage structure [4–6], antiferroelectric-like titanite-type oxides with 1-dimensional TiO6 chains [7,8], and wide-bandgap aluminates exhibiting optically tunable dielectric permittivity [9–11].
