The work carried out during this thesis is focused on the design and characterization of photon triplet generators by nonlinear optical processes. These triplets form a new state of light where the three photons can be entangled and lead to efficient quantum information protocols. The pioneering work of the team were focused on a birefringent phase-matching triplet generator based on a bulk crystal in the bi-stimulated regime. The current objective is to move towards the spontaneous regime. Two new technologies were thus considered: on the one hand, single-crystal ridge waveguides for birefringent phase-matching, and on the other hand, quasi-periodically poled crystals for a cascade of 2 quasi-phase matched processes. The complete nonlinear optical characterization of such devices has been performed.
