To provide reliable IT services and maintain a high-performance IT network for the research teams, clusters, common services and platforms of Institut Néel.
Administer and manage our softwares, services and solutions on dedicated servers.
Define the lab’s Information Technology and computer security policy.
Ensuring services integrity.
Given the growing demand for new services and the size of Institut Néel, our services cover a large scope.
As these fields of activity are constantly and rapidly evolving (increase in data throughput and size, evolution of operating systems, security), a technological watch is conducted in order to innovate and understand emerging solutions.
Approximately 1500 machines and more than 470 users spread over more than 22,000 m2 and 11 buildings.
Our network consists of more than 300 -copper- and optical switches and more than 3,000 network sockets distributed in 35 patch bays.
Our core network consists of a cluster of 10 Gb/s firewalls.
A Microsoft domain allows access to common resources and data sharing within the Institut Néel. A Cloud has been added to our service offer.
To optimize and dematerialize as much as possible the document management of the financial management department.
An 802.1x MDA authentication system secures wired and wireless network access.
An HPC cluster is available to users with a power of 5.5 Tflops. We are in charge of developing it and providing assistance to research teams in digital computing.
We are in charge of all web services made available to the staff of the Institut Néel, labs or local partner organizations. This permanently includes 90 websites and 40 booking systems (institutional sites, photo library, Workshop, ERC, GDR, ANR, Symposium, scientific days, Labex, 38 science, etc.). All the services accessible from the outside are in production on our virtual infrastructure.
In order to make our users self-sufficients, we regularly conduct training or workshops.
Video conferencing systems are available to users in some of our meeting rooms. Since the 2020 containment phase, we have put three new videoconferencing systems into production in order to facilitate remote work and communication (meetings, training, seminars, etc.).
Numerous external tools are made available to users and they require our guidance.
