Croissance Cristalline et MicroAnalyse

Croissance cristalline à haute température (zone fondue, flux, Czochralski, Bridgman) et microanalyse par sonde électronique (MEB / EDX - EBSD et Microsonde de Castaing / WDS)

Overview

The expertise of the “Crystal Growth and Microanalysis” group is in synthesis and precise analysis of single crystals and samples for condensed matter physics.

Oxide and intermetallic crystals are elaborated at high temperature by the main techniques of crystal growth: Czochralski, Bridgman, flux, floating zone, etc.

Quality of the single crystals is verified by XRD, Laue diffraction, SEM, chemical microanalysis (EDS) and crystalline orientation (EBSD) and microprobe (WDS).

The group develops analysis methods and innovative apparatus for materials characterization. It manages for the laboratory the high-resolution SEM (FEG), the electron microprobe, thermal analyses devices (DTA and TGA) and a superconducting magnet platform.
